Job summary

Safeway is hiring a Retail Sales and Store Support team member to keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You help customers locate items, answer questions, and maintain a welcoming environment across departments, restocking shelves and ensuring displays are inviting throughout the day.

You will rotate products, update pricing or signage, manage backroom organization, and assist with inventory while delivering friendly service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Customer interaction: clear, friendly communication when helping customers and answering questions.
• Stocking and merchandising: place products on shelves, face items, and maintain display standards.
• Product knowledge: familiarity with store layout, pricing, and general merchandise across departments.
• Attention to detail: accurate pricing, labeling, rotation, and removal of outdated items.
• Organization and time management: handle multiple tasks while keeping areas orderly.
• Inventory awareness: monitor stock levels and assist with restocking and ordering.
• Equipment use: operate pallet jacks, box cutters, and related tools per safety guidelines.
• Adaptability: switch between tasks, departments, and priorities smoothly.
• Physical capability: stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 60 lbs, work in varying environments
