Job summary

Salt & Light is seeking a Sales Floor Assistant Manager for its Urbana, IL location. You will oversee thrift store operations, supervise volunteers and staff, and collaborate with the Sales Floor Manager to maintain a welcoming environment that reflects our mission.

The role focuses on coaching team members, merchandising, pricing, cash handling, and paperwork while upholding safety, health, and faith-based standards to support community outreach.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, do basic math, and cash handling.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift merchandise; lift 50 lbs+ with assistance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of the Gospel message.
• Willingness to pray and share the Gospel.
• Regular church attendance.

Responsibilities

• It is the primary responsibility to assist with a safe and welcoming environment for all team members, volunteers, customers, and donors.
• Ensure the appropriate number of registers are staffed and equipped with needed supplies.
• Coach SFTM and volunteers on healthy relationships with customers and partner organizations.
• Oversee and remove dated products to maximize floor space; manage merchandising.
• Identify items to be removed, retagged, or repriced; maintain clean, organized floor.
• Complete customer and store paperwork accurately; cash handling and reporting.
