Job summary

The Salvation Army in Illinois is seeking a Store Manager to lead one of our thrift stores. You will oversee all store operations, staff supervision, sales performance, and community engagement, while ensuring customer service excellence and adherence to safety policies.

You will recruit and train staff, manage scheduling and payroll, handle banking and reporting, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment in alignment with our mission to serve those in need.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in staff management and development or equivalent
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and supervise store staff
• Manage scheduling and payroll processing
• Implement company policies and practices in employee relations
• Oversee donation processes, pricing, and presentation
• Maintain OSHA safety policies and store appearance
• Oversee cash handling procedures and daily deposits
• Provide daily reports on store production and sales
• Address customer complaints and educate on the program
