Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to serve as the customer point of contact, maintain plan-o-grams, stock shelves, and ensure product displays are well presented. You will operate the cash register, bag purchases, and collect payments while delivering friendly service.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, assisting shoppers, and keeping the store clean and organized. This role supports profitability and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock shelves; rotate merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners; clean front end and set up displays.
