Job summary

The Salvation Army Orange County is hiring a part-time Sales Associate / Material Handler at the Fountain Valley store. You will greet customers, assist donors, stock merchandise, and maintain the sales floor and donation area in a courteous, efficient manner.

Position requires strong communication, basic POS/cash handling, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A background check is required. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, is offered.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers and donors.
• Background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry will be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock items and merchandize on the sales floor.
• Maintain store and donation area cleanliness and organization.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies and TSA procedures.
• Ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload and stock incoming inventory.
• Inspect products for defects or damages for QA.
• Assist donors in removing items and provide receipts.
• Sort donated materials into proper containers and stack as instructed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
