Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store Orange in Huntington Beach is seeking a Sales Associate/Material Handler to welcome donors and customers, stock and merchandize items, and keep the store tidy. You will also perform cleaning tasks, follow POS policies, and uphold safety standards to support the program and participants.

Role involves lifting up to 50 lbs, flexible weekend coverage, and opportunities for career growth with employee discounts and other benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a background check (criminal history & sex offender registry).
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.
• Accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors with a genuine, prompt, courteous approach.
• Stock priced items ready to be merchandised on the sales floor.
• Maintain the store and donation area, keeping it clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned by Management.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies in accordance with TSA policies.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend required Monthly Store Meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages for quality assurance.
• Assist donors in removing donated items and provide receipts.
• Sort donated material into proper containers and stack material as instructed.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management.
