Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store Orange in Fountain Valley, CA seeks a friendly Sales Associate / Material Handler to greet donors and customers, help with donations, and maintain a neat, welcoming sales floor.

You will stock items, process POS transactions, ensure safety, and support store operations. This part-time role offers benefits and opportunities to grow within TSA's Retail Team.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass a background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors warmly and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items and merchandise the sales floor.
• Maintain store and donation area: clean, neat, organized.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned by Management.
• Follow POS/Cash Register Policies in TSA guidelines.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend monthly Store Meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages for QA.
• Assist donor in removing donated items from vehicle and provide receipts.
• Sort donated material into proper containers and stack as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
