Part-Time Retail Sales Associate

$15.25 to $18.00 per hour

Commission structure: earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $3.19 per hour on top of hourly rate.

Position Summary

Entry‑level, part‑time sales associate positions are available in pawn store locations nationwide. The associate partners with all staff to ensure customer service on both lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and assisting customers with sales, loans, and other transactions involving jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to build rapport and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Perform non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, stocking merchandise and displays.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items following established policies.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Explain the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers.
• Collaborate with all employees to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training successfully.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to perform duties requiring standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting for extended periods.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Available to assist customers outside the building and retrieve products from external storage.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and work in a team.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficient basic math skills.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Willing to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The commission incentive plan is proprietary. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. Details will be provided during the interview process.

Employment Information

All pay rates will meet or exceed applicable local minimum wage requirements.

Maximum base pay rate is derived from the applicant’s previous experience and skill set applicable to the specific position.

Employees who are offered and accept a position will be required to agree to a binding arbitration agreement to resolve disputes.
