Part-Time Retail Sales Associate

Hourly wage $15.00 to $18.00 per hour. Commission up to 8% on transactions, averaging $1.00 per hour on top of base pay.

Position Summary

Entry‑level, part‑time sales associates in pawn store locations nationwide. Associates partner with the store staff to provide customer service on both lending and retail sides. They greet, engage, and assist customers with sales, loans, and other transactions, working with jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with customers to develop rapport.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintains a clean, stocked sales floor and displays merchandise.
• Conducts sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handles cash and negotiable items in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, showing respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Completes assigned training.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May be asked to assist a customer outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficient basic math calculation skills.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. More details will be provided during the interview process.
