Job summary

CITITRENDS, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, have product knowledge, and engage proactively with shoppers in a fast-paced in-store environment. The role supports selling floor operations and loss prevention efforts while contributing to a positive work culture.

The Sales Associate will manage transactions, assist with merchandising, and adhere to policies on returns, safety, and dress code. This position reports to Store Management and is based in-store.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Processes freight.
• Assists with price changes/markdowns.
• Balances register according to company policy.
• Bags merchandise efficiently when completing a customer's transaction.
• Handles all cash, checks and credit cards correctly and by company policy.
• Obtains management approval when needed for returns, voids and checks.
• Handles maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Provides proper customer service such as greeting customers, adheres to fitting room policies, rings customers in a timely fashion, thanks customers for shopping and invites them to return.
• Follows all safety procedures.
• Keeps a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
• Assists management in merchandising sales floor according to stock level.
• Explains exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
• Responsible for assisting Store Manager with Loss Prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting incidents of theft or dishonesty and following all current operational policies.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
