Job summary

Irish Boat Shop seeks a friendly customer service associate for the Harbor Springs and Charlevoix Ship Stores. You will greet customers, operate POS, process transactions, and support marina operations.

Responsibilities include answering calls, stocking shelves, keeping the floor clean, assisting boat arrivals, and helping customers with product questions. Must lift up to 30 pounds and work six days a week seasonally.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in customer service and handling cash preferred.
• Ability to count cash back to customers without a machine.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate positively with people.
• Friendly and energetic personality with a customer service focus.
• Willingness to learn and be an active team member.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 30 pounds occasionally, and board boats of varying sizes.
• Willingness to work six days a week seasonally.

• Answer and route calls correctly with a customer service focus.
• Welcome customers to the store and answer inquiries.
• Assist customers in the ship store and offer service.
• Maintain high standards of customer service with customers and co-workers.
• Assess customer needs and provide information on product features.
• Possess deep product knowledge to answer questions quickly.
• Keep the store floor clean, stocked, and organized.
• Process POS purchases.
• Learn receiving and transfer processes and perform correctly.
• Handle returns of merchandise.
• Comply with inventory control procedures.
• Present a professional appearance per Personal Appearance policy.
• Assist in tying up boats upon arrival to dock.
• Keep docks and pedestals clean and organized.
• Assist in keeping showroom clean and organized.
• Show initiative to assist where needed.
• Be innovative and suggest ways to improve sales.
• Contribute to the overall success and appearance of the Ship Store and Marina.

Location: Harbor Springs and Charlevoix Ship Stores

Purpose: To provide customer service, cashier, and transient dockage services to enhance the customer boating experience.

Responsibilities

• Be the first to welcome customers to the store and answer inquiries
• Actively seek out customers in ship store and offer service
• Maintain high standards of customer service with customers and co-workers
• Assess customer needs and wants while providing assistance and information on product features
• Deep product knowledge and ability to answer questions or find the answers quickly
• Keep the store floor clean, stocked, and organized
• Process point of sale (POS) purchases
• Learn receiving and transfer processes and perform correctly
• Handle returns of merchandise
• Comply with inventory control procedures
• Present a professional appearance at all times in compliance with the Personal Appearance policy
• Assist in tying up boats upon arrival to dock
• Keep docks and pedestals clean and organized
• Assist in keeping showroom clean and organized
