Trinity Health Corp. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing medications and maintaining patient records. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, experience in a pharmacy setting, and strong communication skills. This full-time position offers opportunities to contribute to patient care in a supportive environment.
SUMMARY
Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and keeping patient records. Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Education
Minimum high school education or equivalent.
Preferred completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.
Credentials/Licensure
Minimum licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan.
Preferred active status as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Related Experience
Minimum one year of pharmacy work experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good written and verbal communication skills. Good math skills (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction) for calculations involving fractions, decimals, percentages, and volumes.
Computer Competency
Familiarity with standard desktop and Windows-based systems, including email, e-learning, intranet, and navigation. Ability to use other software required for essential functions.
Physical/Mental
Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., preparing IV admixtures, using a computer keyboard). May require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes, equipment, unit dose-cassettes, and IV solutions. May involve stooping, kneeling, sitting, walking, or standing for long periods (4-8 hours). Must be able to operate equipment physically for the job.
Potential exposure to infectious materials and hazardous substances (including chemotherapy, cytotoxic drugs, cleaning solutions). Risk of needle sticks or cuts from sharp items. Possible musculoskeletal injuries if proper lifting techniques are not used.
