Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a part-time Retail Pharmacy Technician to support the Towers Outpatient pharmacy. The role requires processing prescriptions, handling billing and customer interactions, and assisting pharmacists in a fast-paced environment.

Open 7 days a week with a rotating shift; duties include stocking, labeling, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Prior pharmacy tech experience and Michigan licensure are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience as a retail pharmacy technician.
• Active Pharmacy Tech license through the State of Michigan; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and gather necessary information to process prescriptions.
• Process and fill prescriptions and medication orders; generate labels and documents.
• Select and repack oral solids, liquids and ointments with proper documentation.
• Operate and maintain pharmacy software, automation and cash register.
• Review billing data and process third-party insurance claims timely.
• Generate reports and monitor medication trending and discrepancies.
• Maintain records in compliance with state and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with customers, physicians and staff; route requests as needed.
• Resolve issues with orders in process and refer to a pharmacist when needed.
• Perform pharmacy tasks including stocking, expiring meds removal, and OTC items.
• Support discharge prescriptions and collaborate with hospital units.
• Follow departmental compounding practices and keep areas clean.
