Job summary

Qualifications

Education: Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience as a retail pharmacy technician
Licensure: An active Pharmacy Tech license through the State of Michigan
Certification: A certification as a Pharmacy Tech preferred

Responsibilities

Greets customers and Health System personnel and processes prescriptions.
Processes and fills prescriptions and medication orders.
Generates medication labels, auxiliary labels and documents for patient and pharmacy use.
Operates and maintains pharmacy software, automation, cash register, and associated pharmacy equipment.
Reviews and processes data for billing and third-party carriers.
Interprets data for medication trending, discrepancies and reports.
Maintains accounts/records as required by state and regulatory agencies.
Communicates with customers, physicians, Health System personnel and insurers.
Resolves problems with orders in process and refers drug information to a pharmacist.
Performs ordering and stocking, disposal of expired meds, and discharge program support.
