Job summary

Trinity Health in Livonia, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide daily supportive services under supervision of pharmacists and department leadership. You will assist with dispensing, labeling, IV admixtures when needed, and inventory tasks in a hospital setting.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician program (Associate's preferred), and Michigan licensure. Hospital experience is preferred; ability to work a rotating shift is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician educational program and/or an Associate's Degree preferred.
• Previous hospital-based pharmacy experience preferred.
• Licensure in the State of Michigan is required.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets physician's medication orders, assists with filling, processing and dispensing of medications, re-packages and labels medication, including bulk supplies, with final check performed by a pharmacist.
• Maintains cleanliness and aseptic technique while following established departmental compounding practices and procedures for IV admixtures and related preparations.
• Delivers medications to nursing units' automated dispensing cabinets and other locations; loads and unloads medications with proper bar code scanning.
• Supports drug inventory processes, restocks unit dose drawers, and documents discrepancies; assists with inventory rotation and replenishment.
• Monitors unusual activity for potential drug diversion and alerts pharmacists or management as appropriate.
