Job summary

Trinity Health Muskegon is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy operations. Under general supervision, you will assist pharmacists in filling, processing and packaging prescriptions and maintaining stock.

Day shift, full-time. Requires high school diploma, Michigan license as Pharmacy Technician, formal training or college background in math/science, and at least two years of pharmacy experience. Join a team committed to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician program or college science background preferred.
• Current Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Minimum two years of pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders per physician or pharmacist requests according to policies and procedures.
• Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to policies.
• Contributes to the effective and quality operation of the department.
• Maintains logs and records; answers telephone and pneumatic tube; handles cash transactions.

What the Pharmacy Technician will need:

• Minimum High school education or equivalent.
• Preferred Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program; or two years of college with emphasis in math, science, or medical field applications.
• Minimum Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan.
• Minimum Two years of pharmacy work experience.

What the Pharmacy Technician will do:

• Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
• Contributes to effective and quality operation of the department.
• Maintains logs, records, and other required files and documentation; answers telephone and pneumatic tube; and handles cash transactions.
