Job summary

Yale New Haven Health in Connecticut is seeking an entry level clinical pharmacist to support patient care within the Pharmacy Department. The role emphasizes CHAMP behaviors, patient safety, and collaboration with the health care team.

Responsibilities cover medication order review, medication preparation and distribution, and adherence to policies. The pharmacist will participate in education of staff and residents and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD.
  • ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency desirable but not required.
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

  • Conduct timely, accurate medication order review considering patient characteristics including laboratory values and vital signs.
  • Demonstrate competency in pharmacy automation and technology as applicable to work area.

  • Provide education and training to other pharmacy staff members, pharmacy students and residents, and health care team members.
  • Contribute to departmental cost-reduction/revenue generation.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD degree
Experience

Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience is desirable, but not required. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

Licensure

Current Connecticut Pharmacist License, or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Connecticut

Special Skills

This individual should demonstrate basic knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics, and understand pharmacy systems of drug distribution and formulary management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with others are required.
