Job summary

Family Dollar in Preston, Idaho is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and help supervise and train Store Associates.

The position emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and strong customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, solid communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 55

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Lift up to 55 lbs; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, recording payroll, scheduling and cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and store procedures
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, and trash removal
• Other duties as assigned
