Job summary

Responsibilities

• Engaging customers to provide the best possible shopping experience, including checkout.
• Communicating with team members and assigning daily work tasks.
• Mentoring and coaching other team members to exceed sales goals and complete trainings.
• Support training new team members and cross-training high-potential talent.
• Assist leadership with department schedule writing to boost engagement and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness and rotate stock according to policies.
• Guide the team in food safety and safe operations.
• Lead tasks for ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and displays.
• Foster Meijer culture and inclusive environment with diverse team members.
• Operate a register and handle cash as needed; operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to help meet goals.
• May act as Lead in other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
