Job summary

TJ Maxx in Traverse City, MI is seeking a Manager on Duty to lead store operations and deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will supervise Associates, ensure policy compliance, and maintain daily procedures with a focus on service, efficiency, and safety.

The role requires flexibility to work nights and weekends, strong communication, coaching, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, off-price retail environment. TJ Maxx offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year retail experience preferred.
• 6 months leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience
• Acts as Manager on Duty adhering to company policy and procedure
• Ensures store team performs tasks and activities in accordance with store plan; prioritizes as needed
• Addresses immediate customer service issues and provides coaching to Associates
• Maintains accurate Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience
• Ensures opening/closing procedures are executed according to company guidelines
• Communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates
• Provides feedback, recognition and coaching to Associates
• Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
• Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
• Other duties as assigned
