Job summary

Duke University is seeking a Department Coordinator to split time between the Duke Team Store and the University Store. The role reports to the Deputy General Manager, Retail Operations and combines front‑end customer service with back‑end duties such as ordering and receiving merchandise.

The successful candidate will have 1–3 years in high‑volume retail, a high school diploma (some college preferred), and strong communication and teamwork skills to support inventory management and store

1–3 years of retail apparel sales and operational experience in a high‑volume setting.
Proven retail track record; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate day‑to‑day operations of the Team Store and University Store to ensure sales floors are properly arranged and labeled.
Assist with receiving merchandise, verify packing slips, and ensure UPCs are linked in NetSuite.
Perform monthly cycle counts and communicate inventory issues to management.
Operate the POS system and process cash and non‑cash transactions.
Provide excellent customer service and resolve complaints while adhering to loss‑prevention policies.
