Books-A-Million in Bloomington, MN, hires a Manager in Training to lead daily store operations and drive sales under the guidance of the General Manager. Successful MIT completion advances the candidate to a store leadership role.

The role requires open availability, participation in a 3-4 manager rotation, and full-time hours up to 45 per week, with compensation aligned to retail market standards in the region.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree in business-related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role is required.
• Ability to supervise a large number of associates.
• Strong decision-making, communication, and merchandising skills.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Maximizes profits and customer service by leading and operating the store in accordance with company policy and guidelines.
• Operates the store as the Manager On-Duty with the management team.
• Plans, organizes, and directs store activities under the General Manager.
• Ensures highest level of customer service and resolves customer complaints.
• Maintains merchandising standards and product flow under General Manager guidance.
• Trains and develops Associates and Leads and coaches management staff.
