Job summary

Carowinds seeks a Merchandise Manager to oversee the park's merchandise operations, driving profitability, safety, and guest service excellence. This hands-on leader will guide the Area Manager team to meet associate, guest, and financial goals in alignment with our mission and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred in business/marketing/merchandising.
6-8 years in merchandise/retail industry.
3-5 years leading a large team.
Willingness to travel ~5% of time.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Leads, trains, and develops direct reports with coaching to drive productivity and morale.
Ensures Retail competencies (brand delivery, safety, budgeting, inventory, etc.) are applied consistently.
Partners with local and corporate teams to develop and implement merchandising strategies.
Establishes and executes the visual merchandising plan across locations to attract guests.
Monitors key metrics (sales, KPI, payroll, expenses) and adjusts plans accordingly.
Maintains safety culture and compliance with all rules and regulations.
Manages financial and operational responsibilities within the merchandise category.
