Job summary

Alaska Industrial Hardware in Fairbanks, AK is seeking an Assistant Manager-In-Training for its retail location. This full-time, hourly role offers hands-on training in store operations, recruiting, coaching employees, and driving sales.

Candidates should have a strong customer service background, basic math and communication skills, and be willing to relocate as needed. Prior retail management or sales experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6-month minimum AIH work history.
• Excellent attendance required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to relocate as management needs arise.
• Experience with Microsoft Applications and merchandising for profit.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all daily store operations under guidance of management.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and achieving short and long-term goals.
• Assist in recruiting and hiring for store positions.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees.
• Assist in training and developing a successful sales team.
• Communicate store needs and progress to Store Manager.
