Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking a Manager in Training to assist the Store Manager in daily store operations and administration. You will gain knowledge across product areas, drive sales, promote promotions, and uphold company policies.

This role serves as a client-facing ambassador, delivering standout customer experiences and stepping in as acting Store Manager when needed. The position emphasizes excellent customer service, promotional selling, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager in establishing action plans to accomplish departmental and store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Be aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Direct staff to ensure each department's responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties and be trained in Store Manager’s responsibilities.
• Produce and give extraordinary customer service as per the customer service manual, including assisting customers entering the store and during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
