Job summary

Burlington is hiring a Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and report any theft or suspicious activity to management. The role supports shortage reduction programs and requires strong communication and leadership.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customers and co-workers.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm, confident greeting.
• Conduct bag and package checks for associates as needed and in accordance with safety standards.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs and promote safety.
