Job summary

Citi Trends is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, lead teams, and assist with staffing efforts in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will collaborate with the Store Manager to drive sales performance, maintain operational standards, and develop store associates through onboarding and training. A flexible schedule, strong communication, and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer service standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and standards.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, interviews, onboarding, and training.
• Help maintain staffing levels with recruiting and retention.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to associates.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
