Job summary

Citi Trends is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, lead a team, and assist with hiring, onboarding, and development of store associates. This role partners closely with the Store Manager to drive sales performance and maintain operational excellence.

You will help with staffing, onboarding, and coaching, while ensuring customer service standards and policy compliance. A flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.
• Customer-focused execution.
• Operational accountability.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals, customer experience standards, and operational expectations.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Assist with inventory control, inventory transactions, and shrink prevention efforts.
• Ensure adherence to Citi Trends policies, procedures, and standards.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Assist the Store Manager with hiring and recruiting activities, including screening, interviews, onboarding, and training support.
• Help maintain staffing levels by supporting recruiting efforts and employee retention.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to associates.
