Dollar General Corporation seeks a Cashier/Stocker to function in a lead capacity when Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is absent, delivering exemplary customer service and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs.

The role involves unloading trucks, stocking and rotating merchandise, assisting customers, and ensuring a clean, secure store environment while following company procedures and protecting assets.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsabilités

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise, face shelves, and build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipment categories as directed by Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety (trash, floors, restrooms, stockroom).
• Greet customers entering the store and provide service.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise and provide change.
• Open/close the store under Area Manager direction; authorize refunds and overrides when needed.
• Monitor cash levels, drawers, and security practices; monitor cameras for unusual activity.
