Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store Orange in Costa Mesa, CA is hiring a part-time Sales Associate/Material Handler. You will greet customers, process donations, stock merchandise, and maintain a clean, organized store environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic POS/cash handling skills, and the ability to pass a background check. You’ll join a team focused on friendly service and community support.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Experience with POS/cash transactions preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check including criminal history.
• Effective communication with staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors with courtesy and provide prompt assistance.
• Stock priced items ready to be merchandised on the sales floor.
• Maintain store and donation area; keep it clean, neat and organized.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned by Management.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies and TSA procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately.
• Provide quality assurance by inspecting products for defects.
• Assist donors with item removal and provide receipts.
• Sort donated material into proper containers and stack as instructed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
