Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Maintenance Associate to ensure cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of both the inside and exterior of our store. The role supports daily operations, assists with stocking and unloading, and participates in cross-training to cover multiple departments.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in retail, strong math and cash handling skills, and excellent communication. A 40-hour week with varied shifts is typical, with a range of benefits offered to associates.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of retail cashier or retail supervisory experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong math skills for accurate cash handling.
• Excellent communication skills to implement policies and procedures, direct staff, and provide customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas, instructions, and information clearly and concisely.
• Flexibility with hours: ability to work a 40-hour workweek with varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business dictates.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Comfortable navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the store environment.
• Operate a floor scrubber and cleaning equipment to keep surfaces safe and presentable.
• Assist in unloading trucks, stocking, or zoning merchandise when time allows.
• Report safety hazards or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to customers and colleagues.
• Cross-train for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
