Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional in Michigan to drive staffing, performance, and customer service excellence. You will oversee staffing decisions, promote career paths, and ensure adherence to company standards.

Your role includes mentoring team members, managing costs, and supporting safe, high-quality store operations. The position requires retail experience, a year of leadership, and strong communication and conflict-resolution skills to foster growth and a positive workplace

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli); customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization committed to safe practices.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team is trained in all job aspects and has completed required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
