Position Overview

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Retail Donation Attendant to join our St. Charles Store team. Qualifications
  • No degree required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with co-workers, customers, and management.
  • Organizational skills and ability to interact with a diverse work population.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting donors, assisting with donations, and offering thanks, incentives, and tax receipts.
  • Handle donations with care and respect.
  • Sort donated and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, following established guidelines.
  • Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate donations.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and quantity while working efficiently.
  • Stock, straighten, rotate, and keep the store area clean.
  • Ensure store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
  • Build positive relationships with team members and leadership, collaborating across teams to improve communication.
  • Practice safe work habits, maintaining a hazard-free environment by removing obstructions and keeping aisles clear.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with MERS/Goodwill dress code.
  • Safeguard assets, including cash, donations, and purchases, reporting theft or unauthorized possession.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, safety, and security regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
