Position Overview

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Retail Donation Attendant to join our St. Peters Store - Mid Rivers team. No degree is required; High School Diploma/GED preferred. Effective communication skills with co-workers, customers, and management are essential. Must be organized, capable of interacting with a diverse work population, and possess basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting donors, assisting with donations, and offering thanks, incentives, and tax receipts.
  • Handle all donations with care and respect.
  • Sort donated and purchased goods into categories such as sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, following established guidelines.
  • Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise or materials.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and quantity while working efficiently.
  • Stock, straighten, rotate, and keep the store area clean and organized.
  • Ensure store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with team members and leadership; collaborate cross-functionally to improve communication.
  • Practice safe work habits, maintain a hazard-free environment, and remove obstructions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with MERS/Goodwill dress code.
  • Safeguard assets, including cash, donations, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft; report incidents as needed.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
