Job summary

Journeys Deptford Mall in Deptford, NJ seeks a District Manager in Training to support the District Sales Manager across multiple stores. You will help supervise operations, drive sales, and develop your leadership skills in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years retail sales experience
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Valid state driver’s license
• Willingness to travel extensively within district
• Proven ability to increase sales and profitability
• Proven ability to recruit, train, and develop high‑caliber teams
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Completion of training leading to District Manager in Training or equivalent
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Stand for long periods of time
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Achieve district sales goals and profitability targets while maintaining home store performance
• Support the DSM in evaluating people and developing action plans to improve sales
• Staff stores within the district
• Manage Loss Prevention practices within the district
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees
• Ensure company initiatives are implemented per direction
• Recruit, interview, and hire store management candidates
• Train and promote store employees within the district
• Regularly conduct store visits
• Maintain communication with DSM, Regional, and corporate staff
