Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking an Outside Service Technician to repair case goods, leather and upholstery, handling in customers’ homes when needed. You will assess damages, perform repairs, and communicate repair options to ensure a world‑class customer experience.

This role requires working in Gainesville, FL or Daytona, FL, with a strong focus on maintaining safety, cleanliness, and tools/parts readiness while delivering high-quality results to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Repairs with little guidance on all product types.
• Completes all repair types of entry level with additional skills requirements.
• Performs minor repair on top of surface of case pieces and tables.
• Performs solid color paper/side refinishes.
• Performs small corner damages that requires rebuild.
• Has general understanding of spray booth setup and use.
• Performs advanced replacement part repairs.
• Communicates any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed as well as keeping repair area/shop clean.
• Help to inspect damaged products and conveys if it can be repaired to like new conditions.
• Works with warehouse personnel on techniques of minor touch up on products during the inspection process.
• Documents and follows through on recurring product damages.
• Assist other technicians.
• Accurately reports situations that occur when repairs cannot be completed.
• Must be able to assess damages to determine the most efficient way to repair them.
• Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.
• Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
• Maintains proper safety usage of all products that are used within the department.

Summary

The Outside Service Technician role is primarily responsible for the repair of case goods, leather, and upholstery furniture. You will be completing minor furniture repairs on all types of product damage, including handling or damage that may occur with furniture purchased in customers’ homes. It is critical to have a customer‑centric mindset as your service is direct to the customer and our goal is to always give our customers a world‑class experience.
