Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced store leadership professional in Indianapolis, IN to oversee daily operations and mentor team members. You will focus on customer service, staffing, and achieving sales targets while maintaining store standards and a safe work environment.

The role requires 2–3 years of related retail experience and at least 1 year of management experience, with a focus on staff development and performance coaching. This is a full-time on-site position in a busy store setting.

• Proven leadership skills with mentoring and coaching experience.
• Experience resolving conflicts and addressing root causes effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
• Proven capability to analyze financial and sales data to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image with courteous, friendly service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Support succession planning by creating development paths and promotions decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and advise on discharge.
• Own P&L, drive sales and maintain department shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team training is completed and up to date.
• Spend majority of time in-store assisting customers and teammates.
• Maintain Meijer standards and safe working environment.
