Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Store Department Lead in Austin, Texas to guide a busy department, maintain stock and provide exceptional customer service. You will supervise scheduling, training Partners, and developing staff to meet store goals.

In this role you will oversee multiple sections (Bakery, Deli, Produce, etc.), ensure safety and quality standards, and partner with managers to execute production plans and respond to customer needs.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards and equipment.
• Reading and interpreting safety rules and production planners.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Partners.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to apply common sense to written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead department operations and training, including scheduling and supervising Partners.
• Assist with inventory control and product movement.
• Provide superior customer service and coach on sales techniques.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Oversee bakery, beauty, deli, prepared foods, produce, and Texas Backyard operations as assigned.
• Perform lead duties and support production planning and execution.
