Job summary

E&H Ace Hardware in Middleton, OH is seeking a Department Lead to drive sales, maintain department organization, and support day-to-day operations on the sales floor. You’ll lead a product category, mentor teammates, and ensure customers receive an outstanding shopping experience.

You’ll own performance, presentation, and inventory for your department, participate in resets, open/close as needed, and collaborate with store leadership to uphold Ace’s Customer First culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong product knowledge and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to lead by example and work well within a team.
• Familiarity with retail computer systems, Microsoft Office, or Teams is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent service to every customer.
• Answer questions, locate merchandise, and assist with orders.
• Promote the Ace Rewards program and help customers sign up.
• Maintain product knowledge and awareness of promotions.
• Conduct cycle counts and maintain inventory levels.
• Receive, stock, and merchandise products in the department(s).
• Ensure department signage is accurate and updated.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stock areas.
• Participate in seasonal resets and store visuals.
• Open and/or close the store as needed and serve as a trusted keyholder.
• Monitor safety concerns and theft prevention measures.
• Collaborate with team members and store leadership.
• Flex schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
