Job summary

G&M Oil Company Inc. is seeking a customer-focused associate to join the team. You will perform point-of-sale transactions, assist customers, stock shelves, and maintain a clean, safe store environment.

The role requires basic math, English communication, and reliable availability for various shifts. Prior POS experience is a plus, and you will follow company procedures on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Excellent computer skills / competency in PDI Enterprise POS.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn simple tasks quickly and work with little supervision.
• Basic math skills.
• Food Handlers Permit, if required by store/county.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Open availability to work all shifts within district when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS (cash register and fuel console) accurately and handle money and payments.
• Perform service transactions per policy: credit card, coupons, vendor check-in, alcohol, tobacco and lottery sales, and fast food.
• Check ID for restricted items per policy.
• Participate in sales promotions and campaigns; practice suggestive selling.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws governing store operations.
• Maintain neat appearance; wear uniform and name tag.
• Prepare hot food items as designated by Store Manager; assist with condiment bar and food freshness.
• Ensure store cleanliness and safety; manage restrooms and waste.
• Receive deliveries; stock shelves and backroom supplies.
• Re-stock merchandise to prevent holes on shelves.
• Inspect perishable products for freshness and rotation.
• Follow safety procedures and incident reporting; participate in team activities.
• Perform night-shift duties including cleaning drains and floors if applicable.
