Job summary

Family Dollar in Gallup, NM is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to help deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, process transactions at the register, and help stock and unload merchandise while maintaining store cleanliness.

The role requires reliable communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs. You will work with a friendly team to ensure a safe, respectful environment for shoppers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Keep store clean including bathrooms and floors, and restock as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
