Job summary

Bealls Inc. is seeking a Real Estate Construction Project Manager (Retail) in Chicago, IL to lead new store builds, remodels, relocations, and refresh programs across a multi-site portfolio.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships while ensuring brand standards and store readiness for openings. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5+ years of retail construction experience, fluent English, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing retail construction projects, including multi-site rollouts.
• Strong understanding of retail construction schedules and prototype execution.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, vendors, and competing priorities across multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and fluent in English.
• Ability to climb ladders and lift at least 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual scope of work and budgets for new store locations.
• Create and manage project budgets; track costs and variances.
• Create and manage project schedules aligned to store openings and seasonal needs.
• Lead bid processes and contractor/vendor management to ensure quality and cost control.
• Coordinate due diligence, permitting, and compliance with local codes and lease requirements.
• Monitor construction progress, ensure store readiness, and coordinate handoff to operations.
