Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Store Construction Manager to lead new, expansion, and remodel/ fuel projects in a Tolleson, AZ environment. You will drive projects within scope and budget, coordinate with contractors, review architectural docs, and ensure safe, compliant execution while upholding core values.

Responsibilities include planning resources, preparing requisitions, managing bids, and presenting ROI analyses for capital investments. Travel up to 50% is required as projects span multiple stores.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, construction management or related field, or 5+ years in construction management.
• Ability to read and understand construction documents (L7/8).
• Lead retail management and contractors through moderately difficult to difficult projects (L7/8 or 8).
• Budgeting, ordering and cost control for projects (L7/8).
• 50% travel ability is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and manage resources for a cost-effective project within scope and budget.
• Prepare timely requisitions for major equipment, fixtures and supplies.
• Review proposals and award contracts for remodels with contractors.
• Ensure contractors follow plans and specifications.
• Provide documentation and records throughout the construction process.
• Manage change orders to minimize costs.
• Prepare ROI analyses for capital investments.
• Coordinate remodel activities to minimize sales/EBITDA impact.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews.
• Travel as required to sites (up to 50%).
