Job summary

Macerich is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects at assigned properties. The role reports to a Project Manager or AVP/VP of Construction and requires collaboration with Development, Design, Tenant Coordination, Leasing, Finance, Risk Management, IT, and Operations.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (or equivalent experience) and 1–4 years in retail project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Supplemental education from ICSC or related industry group is a plus.
• Continuing education in retail development and construction anticipated.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager in preconstruction and construction activities for one or more projects.
• Assist Design/Planning and Development in tracking design, budget, schedule, quality, and customer service.
• Support development of construction budgets and schedules under the Project Manager.
• Prepare development schedules, site logistics/phasing plans, and RFPs for vendors.
• Gain exposure to various construction delivery methods (lump sum, GMP, design/build, cost plus).
• Assist constructability reviews of project documents and vendor contracts.
• Monitor project budgets and flag variances for PM review.
• Maintain document control and assist with change management and change orders.
