Job summary

Applegreen is seeking a Category Manager to lead category strategies, optimize assortment, pricing, and promotions across our retail network. You will collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and vendors to drive sales growth and improve customer experience.

The role requires strong analytical and negotiation skills, plus the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid work with in-office days in Glen Rock, NJ is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of retail buying, category management, merchandising, or procurement experience.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite.
• Experience with retail reporting platforms (PDI preferred).
• Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies that support sales growth and margin.
• Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising plans.
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Conduct category reviews and develop action plans to maximize performance.
• Lead vendor negotiations and manage supplier relationships.
• Create joint business plans with key suppliers.
• Develop planograms and promotional calendars with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a high-performance culture.
