Applegreen is seeking a Category Manager in New Jersey to drive category strategies, optimize assortment, pricing, and promotions. You will collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and vendors to deliver strong category performance in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in retail buying or category management, excels in data analysis, and can lead cross-functional initiatives with strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of retail buying, category management, merchandising, or procurement experience.
• Strong experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing vendor relationships.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and leverage data to drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies that support sales growth, margin improvement, and overall business objectives.
• Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising plans for assigned categories.
• Analyze sales, margin, market, and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Lead annual vendor negotiations to secure competitive pricing, rebates, and favorable terms.
• Develop and implement planograms and promotional calendars with Operations and Marketing.
• Mentor and support junior members of the Commercial team.
