Job summary

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking a friendly Retail Cashier for our Jefferson City Store - Ten Mile location. This hourly, full-time role focuses on excellent customer service, accurate cash handling, and keeping the sales floor welcoming.

The position offers an hourly rate of $15.50, potential monthly bonus up to $250, benefits for full-time staff, and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven organization that values diversity, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• No degree required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
• Basic math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Greets and acknowledges customers as they enter the store and assists on the sales floor.
• Operates the store cash register, processes cash and card transactions, handles discounts/returns, and balances the till.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization across the store area, rotates stock, and ensures safety and hazard-free aisles.
• Requests assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
• Upholds store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
• Maintains positive relationships with team members and works cross-functionally to improve communication.
• Follows safe work practices and protects agency assets from theft or damage.
• Maintains professional appearance per dress code and adheres to policies.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
