Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Greet and acknowledge customers entering the store, assist on the sales floor, and answer the phone within three rings with a professional greeting.
- Operate the store cash register, handle cash and credit card transactions, process discounts, and balance the register.
- Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain cleanliness of the store area efficiently and to standard.
- Request assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
- Maintain store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
- Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with team members and leadership; collaborate cross-functionally to improve communication.
- Follow safe work practices through awareness and observation.
- Ensure a hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and walkways debris-free.
- Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
- Safeguard assets including cash, donated, and purchased items; report theft or unauthorized possession.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
