Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia in Virginia Beach is seeking a store associate to maximize efficiency, improve store appearance, and enhance customer and associate satisfaction while processing donations for placement on the sales floor.

The role requires the ability to work evenings and weekends, lift up to 50 pounds, and adhere to safety and policy procedures. A high school diploma or GED is preferred and no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• No previous experience required.
• The associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspects donations and determine marketability according to the Retail Operations Manual.
• Sorts raw material and categorizes for store use, salvage, or trash.
• Tags donated items according to the rotation system.
• Hangs sorted goods for placement on the retail sales floor per productivity standards.
• Produces the required number of items daily per minimum standards.
• Adheres to uniform dress code standards.
• Demonstrates an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Able to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment and learn new procedures.
• Able to be cross trained in multiple production and customer service positions.
• Adheres to Asset Protection control and compliance procedures.
• Communicates effectively with customers, peers and management.
• Adheres to work schedule.
• Able to handle the physical demands of the job.
