Job summary

Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Idaho is seeking a Retail Associate to join our seasonal team. You will sell and merchandise candy, ice cream, toys and related products while delivering exceptional guest service in a fun, welcoming environment.

The role requires basic retail knowledge, cash handling, and a commitment to cleanliness and food safety. Weekend and holiday availability is a must; training is provided, and perks include housing, a resort pass, and health benefits depending on status.

Qualifications

• 6 months cash handling experience preferred in retail or food/beverage.
• Basic customer service skills and ability to work with guests.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, professional, and outgoing demeanor with customers and team members.
• Proactively support operational and company needs with minimal supervision.
• Develop and share product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and consistently; balance cash tills at the end of each shift.
• Keep merchandise and work areas clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and food-safe environment by following all food handling, storage, cleaning, and sanitation procedures in accordance with company standards and health regulations.
• Gain familiarity with Schweitzer Mountain facilities to better assist guests.

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications- None

Technical- Basic computer knowledge and comfortable with a computer based point of sale.

Physical Capabilities- Able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift 25lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Education/Related Experience: Minimum education required – English reading writing and communication. Minimum time in related position- 6 months cash handling position preferably in retail or food and beverage.
